July was a busy month for the Shift team. Specifically, we hosted three workshops, moved into our new home at 683 Northland Avenue, and welcomed 6 new manufacturers into Shift. We will be sharing more about our move to Northland, but first we would like to introduce you to the new Shift manufacturers:
- Amherst Stainless Fabrication is a fourth-generation family-owned and operated design and fabricator specializing in turnkey process solutions headquartered in Amherst, NY. Established in 1944, Amherst Stainless Fabrication has created a strong tradition of craftsmanship, quality, and results. Headquartered in Amherst, NY, ASF has a team of certified welders and is ASME and PED code certified and USDA and 3A compliant.
- H.H. Dobbins Inc. is a family-owned and operated BRC and USDA certified pack-house. Established in 1920, H.H. Dobbins is still recognized as a trusted fruit handler, manager, and marketer in Western New York operating in a state-of-the-art packing facility. H.H. Dobbins’ world-class team represents some of the finest growers in the world and take great care to manage their fruit in a way that will optimize their investment.
- GTI Fabrication is a leader in modular containerized solutions and specializes in modular shower, kitchen, gym, farm, security, office, mobile beverage, mobile showcase, modular construction, and currency mining units. Lead by two Buffalo graduates, the team has recruited 30 individuals with expertise to customize every unit to the specifications of each client. For each of their services, GTI Fabrication has experienced professionals to handle client’s projects with detail and care.
- Ru’s Pierogi is a Buffalo-born pierogi purveyor that began crafting hand-made pierogi for friends and family five years ago. Since Ru’s beginnings as a part-time pierogi hobbyist, the business has expanded to include a food truck, brick and mortar restaurant on Niagara Street, and a large-scale manufacturing facility. Employing workers from the surrounding community of Buffalo’s Westside, Ru’s currently packages and ships over 300 cases of frozen pierogi a week.
- Safetec of America is a 27-year-old, all american made ,manufacturer of infection control and first aid products. Located on Buffalo’s East Side, Safetec strives to keep organizations compliant (EPA, FDA, OSHA, CDC, WHO, APIC, & ISEA) and their workforce safe from cross-contamination of infectious disease. With a team of 118 employees including an in-house team of specialists and in-house private label capabilities, Safetec provides the essential expertise, reliability and compliance guidance for a customers’ immediate needs, safety, and success.
- Superior Pallets is a family-owned and operated designer and supplier of new, reconditioned, and re-manufactured pallets. Established in 2000, Superior Pallets’ products are ISPM-15 certified, ensuring the highest quality wood is used in each pallet. With two automated lines to sort, repair, and construct, Superior Pallets’ moves over 5,000 pallets through their facility every day.
